A stack of three
Emotions are not so simple as to come with warning, to allow time to process and to be resolved before you move on. I read in the shadows the emotions come in threes, maybe. The emotion that strikes me, that presents itself to me is sadness, anger is too diffiult so sadness is the one to strike and i become quiet. Loneliness is bound to follow, on the surface it may seem like I am lonely because I am alone, but truthfully I am lonely because of my inadequacy, because I have not been clever enouch, emotionally, intelectually or spiritually, to have prevented the situation, I am lonely because my loved ones have turned their backs on me because of my inadequacy. And the third, deepest of the trio of emotions is the betrayal, the promises made to the child that was once me that have been unfulfilled. Pitious, but it alwasy is, is it not.
