Against the ridicule
Slow and steady may win the race but, of course, only when the race is against those who are not fast and steady or, perhaps, professional. It may be the only approach for those who do not excel, and the saying should be slow and steady gets you to the finishing line. Slow and steady leads to a long race, all day or longer, this it is best when there are no other competitors at all. In which case why race, is it some sort of desire to please, or to save face and not be ridicules. Should the next race be against the ridicule?
