Commission a graffiti style
portrait or picture
Follow these steps to commission a bespoke interesting contemporary
style picture from your photograph.
Step 1: Selecting a photograph
A good photograph will focus on the subject, for a portrait the
person should fill most of the shot. The light should come from
a single source, for example: photographs taken outside, photos
taken indoors with light from a window or a single lightbulb. Photographs
taken with a flash will not make good pictures as this style of
picture relies on shadows. Professional studio photographs will
allow you to choose any style available. Outdoor photographs with
lots of detail will need to be quite large pictures. Select
a few photographs that would be suitable and ask the artist for
comment on which will be the best.
Step 2: Choosing a style
Look through the pictures on this site and choose one you like.
Look at the original photograph to make sure your photograph is
similar - this is a good indicator to tell you if the style you
would like is suited to your photograph.
Step 3: Contacting the artist
Call the artist to discuss photographs, styles and pricing options.
You will need to email or post your original photographs to the
contact on the right.
Step 4: Finalizing the style and size
The artist will prepare and email you a sample of what the final
picture may look like. You will be able to request different sample
styles. The cost of the commission will depend on the size and style
selected so the final pricing will only be given when the style
and size has been finalized.
Step 5: Taking delivery of your new picture
Pictures can be collected from South London, UK, or they can be
sent by post. Pictures sent by post will be removed from stretchers
and rolled. The artist does not frame pictures.
