Why handcut stencils?

Much of the innovation and development of art throughout history has been through the hands on process of creating works of art. A slight slip will create a pleasing effect. A creative emphasis of one shaded area will liven a picture. The final effect of a handcut stencil is it will not be a photo-exact replica of the original photograph but an impression of it.

Handcut stencils allow the artist to express their creativity in the artwork.
