faster than expected

a naked male figure with sea, or... a scenario that isn't real but rather is an alarmingly accurate metaphor, there has not been a large asteroid detected on a path heading straight for earth, and the funding for the observation needed to track it has not been cut, and thus it is neither a success or a problem that we cannot intervene as there is no pending asteroid disaster.  But there are other potential disasters which too need funding for observation, is this funding being cut?
