005 :: The Shops

The street was bright.  Warm.  It was busy.  Nice shops.  She lingered at the shops.  Large windows.  Happy people.  Coffee lounges.  People sitting.  Reading.  Watching their Skrolls.  Working.  Nail bars.  Special chairs.  Talking.  Smiling.  A masseuse massaging a fat woman.  Her skin bulged in mounds between his fingers.  Her naked arse and legs poured onto the massage table.  Vegetables.  A cooking show.  Clothes on a rail shifting like a conveyor belt.

Simon strode ahead.  She got left behind.  He turned a corner. away from the shops.  Away from the people.  She scampered to catch up.  A nice street.  A quiet street.  Smart cars.  Trees.  She walked behind him.  He turned another corner.  Left.  His pace seemed to quicken.  Like he knew the area.  Like he recognised the road.  Like he wanted to get the task finished.  She skipped beside him.  They crossed the street.  She changed sides.  Keeping him between her and the road.  LIke a child protected.  LIke she was the obedient child on her way to her new home.

A new job.

Simon stopped.  She nearly bumped into him.  He opened the gate.  She watched him walk to the front door.  She looked disappointed.  Like she had expected something grander.  It was a big house.  Three stories.  Painted white.  Large windows on the upper floors.  It has space for three cars.  Empty spaces.  A small front garden.  A short path.  Dark blue door.  She followed Simon.  Tapped him on the shoulder.  Held her hands open in a question.

Yes.  Amazing.  I can only dream of living in a place like this. (ATS Agency B13)

She scowled.  She was frustrated.  She was tired.  She wanted to know what was happening.

Simon banged on the door.
