Naomi woke. She looked at the time on the wall. She reached for her Skroll. Five official warnings of wasting police time. Five fines. She opened the first warning. She tapped evidence of wasting police time. She watched a video. Of her. Alive. Flashing passed cameras on the route she took with Jack. But there was no Jack in the video. Jack had been removed. Erased. Then there was a crash. A crash into the shadows. On Smugglers Way.
Nothing for fifteen minutes.
Then she staggers back. The other way. The same route home.
She selected respond. She typed: Jack, the au pair from number nine will corroborate the assault.
She closed her Skroll Held it in her hand. Waiting for it to buzz. She went back to sleep.
